As an added challenge to my job at Big City Mountaineers, I've decided to climb Mount Shasta, a 14,162-foot volcano in the Cascade Range in California, with a couple of friends in June 2009. I have until then to raise $4,200 to benefit Big City Mountaineers' programs for under-resourced urban teens -- weeklong backpacking and canoeing trips in Colorado, California, the Pacific Northwest and the Boundary Waters. I got the opportunity to help lead a group of five Bay Area teens (Eric, Mikey, Denzell, Tiny and Enrique) in California in August of 2008, and it was one of the most formative experiences of my life. If you've reached this page because I e-mailed you about it, chances are you've had a few opportunities in your life. I'm asking for donations for some kids who haven't had the same chances. You can help change their lives by helping them get out of the city and into the mountains with some positive role models. I'm working at BCM because the mountains changed my life -- now I'm asking for a little bit of your latte money, or whatever you can spare, so we can help kids have the same opportunity. Cool. I got to be the one to get you to $4000! Also bought a pair of Keen hiking boots today. Not sure you know, but BCM is one of their community partners. Have a great climb.

I am slow, but it is not because I am old (well, not JUST because). I am wading backwards through scads of emails and saw this. I apologize for my delay. I admire you.

Duder-Sorry for the tardiness on this and best of luck. MONST.
Drew Sauser
This is only because I honestly did this before.
