Help Me Summit for Someone!

Hello, and welcome to my donation page! I have been given an incredible opportunity to raise money for Big City Mountaineers by climbing Mt. Whitney with the editor of Backpacker Magazine and some world famous Mountaineers! Next April I will travel to California and join an expedition style team. Mt. Whitney is the highest peak in the lower 48 at nearly 14,500ft and will be our goal for the trip.

 As an outdoor enthusiast and Backpacker Magazine fan I couldn't be more excited about this opportunity yet, as a person I am even more excited for the chance to join the Summit For Someone program and raise funds for Big City Mountaineers. This is an incredible program that challenges underserved youth to complete a week of outdoor adventure alongside an adult mentor. I truly believe if a struggling and lost youth can acquire the strength, determination and courage to complete an outdoor adventure it will provide them the skills to transform the rest of their life. The unique one on one mentoring opportunity provides positive role models for the kids and we are most definitely shaped by the people in our lives. Exposing urban youth to this environment will champion the cause of outdoor preservation and provide a healthy hobby for the rest of their lives.
